  • 1 can evaporated milk (400 ml)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence

Method
 

  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar with water over medium heat without stirring.
  1. Watch closely until the mixture turns an amber color, then pour it into the mold, tilting to coat evenly.
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth, then add condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla essence, blending gently to avoid bubbles.
  1. Pour the custard mixture over the cooled caramel in the mold.
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and place the mold in a larger baking dish filled halfway with hot water.
  1. Cover the mold with aluminum foil and bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  1. Let the flan cool completely at room temperature before refrigerating for at least 4 hours.
  1. To serve, run a knife around the edges, flip onto a plate, and enjoy.
